“It’s a song focused on nostalgia, but not in a traditional way,” Lasso tells Apple Music about his new Puro Pop-leading single, “Ojos Marrones.” The singer-songwriter first emerged early in the 2010s, logging solo hits in Venezuela like “Diferente” and “Te Veo.” Over the next decade, he continued to explore within and beyond his pop-rock roots, leading to notable collabs with the likes of Danna Paola and Micro TDH on last year’s Cuatro Estaciones. Following spring’s “DIOS,” he returns with the spectacular, summery “Ojos Marrones.” Its breezy instrumentation recalls Fleetwood Mac or Phoenix, yet the lyrics are downright volatile as he sings wistfully of a lover he once had. “It's about that strange moment when you go out with a new person and you have an incredible time,” he adds, “but it doesn't have that 'magic' that you found in your ex.” This playlist is updated often, so if you hear something you like, add it to your library.
